Mojave Harvest 2020
Mojave Harvest 2020

(Ridgecrest) – Mojave Pistachios, headquartered in Ridgecrest, California, began harvesting their Inyokern fields yesterday, Monday, September 7, 2020. Harvest will run three to four days. Mojave planted the trees being harvested in 2014, and this is their first year of crop.

Mojave farms approximately 1,600 acres of pistachios but only about 300 acres will be harvested this year.

More than 98% of all pistachios produced in the U.S. are grown in California. According to the American Pistachio Growers, projections point to 1.4 billion pounds of California pistachios by 2026.

Using state-of-the-art harvesting equipment operated by Orchard Harvest Corporation, Mojave balances innovation and efficiency that will yield a superior production at a lower cost.

Five sets of equipment will be working on the fields during harvest. Mojave supports the local economy by purchasing locally and using local contractors whenever possible.

A proud member of their community, Mojave leaders are offering tours of the inaugural harvest. Please contact Joshua Nugent at (661) 599-3518 for additional information about joining the tour.
